What is the integrated approach to health care?

The integrated approach to healthcare is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary model that harmonises various aspects of medical, behavioural and social services to provide seamless and effective care. It transcends traditional silos, recognising that health is multifaceted and interconnected. In this model, healthcare professionals collaborate closely, forming a cohesive team that addresses not only the physical ailments but also the psychological and social factors influencing a person's well-being. Patients are at the centre of this approach, actively participating in decisions about their care and receiving personalised support tailored to their unique needs.

An integrated women's health clinic embodies this holistic, patient-first approach to women's well-being, catering to their diverse health needs under one roof.

Seeing one is seeing all, as our practitioners work as a team to evaluate and create a treatment plan for each patient. Pre-screening is conducted to accurately understand the big picture, allowing us to assign the best team for your specific condition.

Beyond treating specific conditions, they prioritise preventive care, health education and empowering women to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.

What are the benefits of integrated women’s health care during pregnancy and postpartum?

Seeking care from an integrated women’s health clinic during pregnancy and postpartum offers a range of benefits that contribute to the well-being of both mothers and babies. By bringing together various healthcare services under one umbrella, integrated care ensures that women receive comprehensive and coordinated assistance throughout their journey to motherhood and beyond.

This approach addresses the multifaceted needs of expectant and new mothers and enhances access to timely and appropriate care, leading to improved pregnancy outcomes. Women’s health research has pointed to the fact that integrating women’s pregnancy and postpartum health services can maximise synergies and avoid duplication of services. Additionally, an Australian study found that integrated perinatal care tailored to individual women can lead to better emotional wellbeing after birth.

Studies not only show the benefits of a multidisciplinary approach, but also the importance of integration between prenatal and postpartum care. They suggest that fragmenting care around the delivery phase, the most vulnerable part of the gestational process, puts women and their babies at risk.

This is yet another benefit of seeking care from an integrated clinic that supports you before, during, and after your pregnancy, with 34 weeks of care, followed by a three-week phone consultation to check in with the new mother, and then a six-week assessment.
